PROJECT MASK MAKER
Glory Baby Ministry specializes in making burial gowns or memorial packages for parents grieving a miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss. This need in our community will STILL be filled. There is another need and we have volunteers with an amazing skillset that can help. The supply for personal protective equipment (PPE) currently on hand to protect medical personnel, employees and individuals is becoming low. Glory Baby Ministry is hoping to help fill this need by providing handmade masks to Warren County and surrounding areas. We WILL fill the need of medical personnel FIRST and then will help to supply individuals in the community. We will go in order by requests received.
While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not suggest cloth material as a first-line defense against the coronavirus causing COVID-19, cloth masks work well for other conditions and can help conserve precious reserves of N-95 respirator masks.
MAKE A REQUEST OR CHECK THE LIST
We are located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We will be filling the needs of our local Warren County, Ky community FIRST. Once our local needs are filled and we have a surplus of masks we will ship these out (as long as the mail continues to run) to those in need in the state of Kentucky. If we have a huge surplus of masks and fill the needs of our state then we will begin shipping outside of our state.
We will be supplying medical personnel and first responders FIRST (hospitals, doctors offices, fire department, police officers, EMS, etc). Once these requests are filled we will go in order of requests made.
Click the link below toe make a request. If you have made a request check this link to see if your name/business has been added. Give us 72 hours once the request is made to get your name added. We are filling request as quickly as we can.
Go to the “Make A Request” link.
Glory Baby Ministry and the volunteers are NOT held responsible or liable for face masks that may cause harm to a person, allergic reaction, those that may contract a virus even though they wore a mask made by a volunteer. We have spent time researching the CDC website and it states “HCP use of homemade masks: In settings where facemasks are not available, HCP might use homemade masks for care of patients with COVID-19 as a LAST resort. However homemade masks are NOT considered PPE, since their capability to protect HCP is unknown. Caution should be exercised when considering this option. Homemade masks should ideally be used in combination with a face shield that covers the entire front (that extends to the chin or below) and sides of the face.”
It is up to ALL recipients of masks to launder and sanitize your mask prior to use. Please read the disclaimer above. These masks are meant to be reusable, but it is up to the recipient to launder and sanitize.
I CAN’T SEW! HOW CAN I HELP?
Pray for the volunteers, pray for the recipients of the masks, pray for our nation.
I want to make a monetary donation! The current Glory Baby Ministry funds are used for our mission of making and sending burial gowns and memorial packages for parents grieving the loss of a baby. To offset the cost our ministry will incur on the masks we are accepting monetary donations. Any overage we have after completion of this project will go back towards the Glory Baby Ministry mission. Monetary donations can be made by mailing a check (in memo put Project Mask Maker) to our mailing address listed at glorybabyministry.org OR our PayPal link.
